I've been photographing a couple of fashion shoots recently so if you know someone who wants to try their hand at posing drop me an email. We occasionally require amateur models for our portrait photography courses & professional photographic assignments. If you are a fun a lively person, with a good personality, looking for some photographic experience then drop us an email with your details and a photograph.
Following the first of our Intermediate Group Course last weekend this course starts with a very quick recap on the basic settings and progresses, step by step, through to some of the more technical aspects of photography. Each camera operation or photography lesson is followed by a demonstration then a practical session. This course includes about twice the hands on practical photography time of the beginner's course.
Learn to use your camera on Full Manual Control
We will be mainly using the camera on the full manual setting so you gain a really good understanding of how the various aperture and shutter speed combinations effect your picture and how to visualise the picture before you take the shot.
After the camera and outdoor practical photography sessions we review the images and offer constructive feedback. This is followed by photo-editing tutorial where we will show you how to get the very best from your your photographs.

The HDR and RAW course is one of my favourite courses because I'm a great fan of shooting into the setting sun. I just love those long shadows and the fabulous cloud formations with the sunlight streaming through. HDR allows us to create photographs which are more like the image you saw when you took the shot.
Note: Please do not book this courses unless you have already attended our Beginners Photography Course first.
The RAW & HDR Photography Course is split between taking photographs and editing them in Photoshop. You will require a laptop computer, with Photoshop or Photoshop Elements installed, plus a tripod and a remote release. Please contact us before booking if you lack any of these items. |

Extra Macro Photography Course on Saturday 20th August 2011
 |
. |
If you have been checking out the DPC Facebook Group you will have seen some amazing macro pictures.
For those of you who would like to learn how to take similar shots we have added an extra Macro Photography Course on Saturday 20th August 2011.
This One Day Macro & Close-up Photography Courses is suitable for the experienced novice or intermediate photographer. Ideally you will have attended one of our beginners photography courses before taking this course as a good understanding of the menus and various camera settings will be required so you can concentrate on the subject at hand rather than the technicalities of setting your camera. You will require some specialist kit for this course so please see a list of low to medium cost options www.digitalphotographycourses.co.uk/macro-photography-course.html |
This month’s project:
This month we have two projects which I would like you to upload to the Digital Photography Courses Facebook Group
Silhouettes & Jumping action shots
You can be a clever as you like, so it could be: reflections of the sky in water, a self portrait on glass, shiny plastic, your gleaming car right after a polish but before the birds mess on it, maybe even a night shot on a wet road. Remember to under-expose by 1-2 stops and shoot against the sky. |

A very enjoyable day which was very beneficial for my photography interests. I learnt lot. Katya Kirby
Excellent day. I really enjoyed it. Louise Topley
Many thanks. I shall go away with a new enthusiasm. Very helpful and I just need to remember it all. Linda Topley
Really great day. I feel much more confident and I'm raring to go out and practise. Sam Winter
Thanks for a very interesting and informative course last Saturday. I had already been experimenting a bit with my close-up rings and focusing rail, over the week or so I had had them, so some of the concepts were a bit familiar. However, doing your course has helped a lot, and I am now much more confident with the kit I've got, and I will be pursuing close-up and macro work a lot more from now on. Alan Dutton-Smith
Excellent course and great value for money. I can't wait to do the next one. Rachel Summers
This is the second course I've been on with Glen and I feel even more confident with the use of my camera after this one. As always Glen managed to answer all my questions. Jenny Weston
We hope you have enjoyed this newsletter
